Daffodil Place is a 24-room facility operated by the Canadian Cancer Society, Newfoundland and Labrador Division, for people with cancer and their caregivers who must travel to St Johns for cancer care. The Society is committed to easing the financial and emotional burden of a cancer diagnosis through support services such as Daffodil Place. Daffodil Place offers affordable accommodations, 3 hot meals plus snacks daily, transportation to and from appointments, entertainment in the evening, and emotional and practical support. They receive no government support and everyone is welcome regardless of their financial situation. All proceeds go directly to the Daffodil Place in St-Johns Newfoundland and Labrador. We also have some great sponsors on board that will be covering the expenses of the event including Mirvish Productions, Newfoundland Chocolate Company, Godin guitars; Also, the cast, band, producing and backstage team are all donating their time.
Inspired by the events that took place in Gander Newfoundland on 9/11, we (the company of Come From Away Toronto) have launched a random acts of kindness endeavor called Come From Kindness, where every month we go try and give back to our community in Toronto and beyond. Since Winter 2018, through this initiative, we have raised over $200,000.00 to benefit different charities and communities across Canada.
